Vista Upgrade

In short, don't.

So far I've had nothing but trouble - but that's why I started, so I could find out what it's like.

Yes, the interface has candy (which got turned off to improve performance). Yes it's secure. Ish. I'm not going to get started on the DRM though...

But I have to say Vista sucks. As part of the upgrade, it queries your system. By downloading a program from the web - not on the install DVD. This only checks the hardware... the the install check the software. On my system it moaned about Nero (fairly normal - and had to be uninstalled) and 6 other applications. 4 of which were from Microsoft. FFS. And Vista seems to have a built in X-Mouse ability which I haven't found a way to tune yet - pass over a window for more than a microsecond and it pulls it to the foreground, though that might have been part of the TweakUI settings I had before, though that wasn't set that low.
